Jesus Took On Him The Seed Of Abraham
Hebrews 2:16 says, “For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.”

When our Lord Jesus “came into the world to save sinners” (1 Tim 1:15), He “took on Him the seed of Abraham” and not “the nature of angels.” Because God did not place the world under the subjection of angels (v. 5). Instead, He made man “a little lower than the angels” (v. 7), to set him over the works of His hands (Gen 2:15). But man’s role changed because of Adam’s sin (Rom 5:12), through Satan’s deception (Gen 3:4).
And now, physical death still reigns (Rom 5:17)! Since dominion “over all the earth” (Gen 1:26), was originally given to man, Jesus had to become a man (Jn 1:14), in order for all things to be placed under Him. Therefore, He “took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men” (Php 2:7). By God’s grace, Jesus tasted death for every man through His shed blood on “the cross” (Php 2:8). But after His burial and resurrection (1 Cor 15:4), He was “crowned with glory and honour” (v. 9), to make “reconciliation for the sins of the people” (v. 17)! He could not have accomplished “so great salvation” (v. 3a), without becoming a man (Isa 7:14).
God’s salvation plan is such an important doctrine that Paul encourages us to “give the more earnest heed” (v. 1); or by giving diligent attendance and obedience to His word (1 Tim 4:13). This “gospel” (1 Cor 15:1), was at first “spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us” (v. 3b), by the apostles who heard Him. Then God bore witness to their testimony “through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit” (Rom 15:19). And we are still proclaiming the gospel today. If only people would realize that there is no escape for neglecting His great salvation. Because “they are without excuse” (Rom 1:20). When our Lord Jesus returns, all things shall be put under Him and shall be subject unto Him (1 Cor 15:27)! God bless you!
