At The Name Of Jesus Every Knee Should Bow

Philippians 2:10 says, “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;”

Since God has highly exalted Christ Jesus, “and given Him a name which is above every name” (v. 9), every being in the entire universe is called upon to respond and recognize His position, His power, and His glory. Everyone is called upon to bow before Him in humble submission and surrender! This is a call to acknowledge that Jesus “is Lord of all” (Acts 10:36). Because there is coming a day when every angel, every soul, even Satan himself, will bow before Him. They should all “confess” (v. 11), or finally agree that Jesus is the only Saviour (Jn 14:6).

And that there is “none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Sadly, many today have never humbly admitted that they are sinners (Rom 3:23), in need of the only Saviour; Who alone can wash their “sins in His own blood” (Rev 1:5). If they would only “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 16:31), and shall call upon His name, they “shall be saved” (Rom 10:13). Whatever comes to mind when you think of famous people, His name is far greater than them all! When Jesus our “Faithful and True” (Rev 19:11), comes again in glory, “every eye shall see him” (Rev 1:7).

Our modern technology can surely make it possible for people around the world to witness the same event simultaneously. However, when Jesus comes again, He will not need any type of broadcasting media. Because the entire world will see Him at the same time – His presence and glory will be undeniable! Jesus gave Himself “that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Cor 5:21). He supplies all our need (Php 4:19). By His grace, we are strong when we are weak (2 Cor 12:10). And He is “plenteous in mercy” (Ps 86:5). Never use His name as an expletive. We should always proclaim the name of Jesus with honor, glory, and majesty! God bless you!
