Christ Shall Reign For Ever And Ever

Revelation 11:15 says, “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.”

The “kingdoms of this world” have many rulers, leaders, and kings. But there is only one true kingdom where God is the “King for ever” (Ps 29:10)! These worldly rulers may think that they are in charge. In reality, Satan is called “the god of this world” (2 Cor 4:4), who blinds the minds of those who don’t believe in God. Jesus calls him “the prince of this world” (Jn 12:31), who will be cast out. Satan’s rule is seen in the prominence of wickedness in this world (Eph 6:12), and their hatred against our Lord Jesus (Jn 15:18).

They do so because the devil leads them (2 Cor 11:3). But I’m glad that this is only temporary. One day, Jesus will return in glory and power (Mt 16:27), to assume His rightful place as the Lord and God of this world! When He does, every knee should bow, and “every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord” (Php 2:11), “and he shall reign for ever and ever.” Unlike any human rulers and politicians who would eventually reach the end of their reign or term, Jesus will reign eternally! Because His kingdom is everlasting (Ps 145:13). He reigns as the “Lord God Almighty” (v. 17).

Every kingdom on earth shall fail because it is ruled by men with limited power. God’s kingdom is established upon the One Who holds all power (Mt 28:18), “and it shall stand for ever” (Dan 2:44). “He put all in subjection under Him” (Heb 2:8). He will neither be deposed nor dethroned, for He is “God alone” (Ps 86:10). It may appear that Satan has his hands on the world. But he can’t even do anything without permission from God (Job 1:12). He has limitations, and he knows his ultimate end “into everlasting fire” (Mt 25:41). He has to yield to the One Who has always reigned for all eternity! God bless you!
