Continue By Believing The Truth
2 Thessalonians 2:13 says, “But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:”

In the last days there will be an apostasy or “falling away” (v. 3), among those who profess to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. But they’re not truly saved, because they shall “depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” (1 Tim 4:1). Paul assures us that we don’t have to fall away if we are genuinely saved “through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth.” This is our best safeguard against apostasy! When God called us by the gospel (v. 14), we heard the truth of God’s word (Rom 10:17), and believed it (Acts 16:31).
In response to our belief, we “are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God” (1 Cor 6:11). Our bodies became “the temple of the Holy Ghost” (1 Cor 6:19), and we are placed into a new life in the Spirit. As we continue in our faith by believing the truth in the things which we have learned and had been assured of (2 Tim 3:14), we will be protected against apostasy that is becoming very rampant in our world today. We need to continue serving the Lord through our continual obedience to His word (Jn 17:17), by manifesting “the fruit of the Spirit” (Gal 5:22), in our lives.
So that we can become the living testimonies of our Lord Jesus (1 Pet 3:15). Paul continues to exhort the believers in Thessalonica to “stand fast, and hold the traditions” (v. 15), which they have been taught. These traditions are doctrines and practices delivered by Paul to his followers (Php 4:9). Sadly, most bible-believing churches today are no longer holding on to these traditions such as; strong bible-based preaching, traditional God honoring music, and prayer meetings. These traditions are based on “sound doctrine” (Titus 1:9), and not the “tradition of men” (Col 2:8)! God bless you!
