Dealing With Accusations
Jude 1:9 says, “Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.”

“Michael the archangel” disputed with the devil “about the body of Moses.” We don’t know the details of their contention. But since God was the One Who buried Moses’ body, no one else knows the exact location of his sepulchre (Deut 34:6). Satan is our “adversary” (1 Pet 5:8), who seeks to undermine God’s work and to sow discord among God’s children (Titus 3:9). Instead of saying many things against the devil (1 Jn 3:8), Michael showed us a great example of direct confrontation, without engaging in a verbal battle that is filled with anger and “a railing accusation” or an insulting charge (Prov 19:5).
There are many “false accusers” (2 Tim 3:3), during these perilous times. Their goal is to disrupt, discourage, and even derail those who are faithfully serving God (Ps 6:8). They are foolishly allowing themselves to be used as pawns and puppets of the devil (1 Cor 6:8), who is the real “accuser of our brethren” (Rev 12:10). Although accusations can weigh heavily on our hearts, we must not hastily react to accusers in a manner that would undermine our Christ-like testimonies (1 Cor 1:6). We must always remember to love our “enemies” (Mt 5:44).
No matter what others may say or do to us (Prov 10:18), God’s “eyes are in every place” (Prov 15:3), and He sees all the truth! He gives us a greater purpose in life (Jer 29:11). As long as we remain humble (Jms 4:10), and obedient to His will (Rom 12:2), He promised to overthrow the wicked, while “the righteous shall stand” (Prov 12:7). By not slandering Satan, Michael acknowledged God’s power and authority over his own strength. We should never engage in petty arguments or rely upon our own wisdom to fight our accusers. Instead, we must “pray for them” (Lk 6:28), turn everything to the Lord (1 Pet 5:7), and trust Him (Prov 3:5), to fight our battles (Ex 14:14)! God bless you!
