God Is For Us

Romans 8:31 says, “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”

The moment we trusted Jesus as our Lord and Saviour by faith (Eph 2:8), we become partakers of His salvation that forever changes us (2 Cor 5:17), as “the children of God” (Gal 3:26). By His loving grace, we are safe and secured forever (Jn 8:28). God is determined to save us “to the uttermost” (Heb 7:25); and He is able to keep us “from falling, and to present us faultless before the presence of His glory” (Jude 1:24). He is in our midst at all times (Zeph 3:17).In fact, the prophetic name of our Lord Jesus is “Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us” (Mt 1:23).

This great truth should give every child of God the joy, comfort, and peace (2 Cor 13:11); knowing that He is ever present in our lives! We are indwelt by the Holy Spirit (v. 9), and He now lives in our bodies (1 Cor 6:19). It’s encouraging to know that even in the midst of all our trials, frustrations, and disappointments, God is always there to comfort us (Ps 23:4)! Many people today who are still lost in sin (Rom 3:23), are living a defeated life that is dominated by carnality, the world, and the devil (Eph 4:19).

They are following “the works of the flesh” (Gal 5:19), that leads to a powerless and fruitless living. Sadly, even most professing believers are being lured into the tricks and traps of the devil (1 Pet 5:8), who wants to defeat us. But God wants us to be victorious. Since “we are more than conquerors” (v. 37), “who can be against us?” Whenever we are troubled and anxious over some problems or situation that is beyond our control, we must realize that God is in control of everything (Heb 13:5), and He alone has the power to help us! When we turn our eyes upon Jesus (Heb 12:2), He is there in us, for us, and He shall lead us every step of the way! God bless you!
