God Is Holy And Righteous

2 Peter 3:3 says, “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,”

Many people today are so quick to deny the plain teachings of Scriptures. False prophets and teachers are eager to invent stories and fables to defend their position (2 Pet 2:1). It isn’t that they could not understand; but they choose not to understand! For “they willingly are ignorant of” (v. 5), the truths of God’s holy word (Jn 8:32). Because they walk “after their own lusts.” God is the “possessor of heaven and earth” (Gen 14:19); He has given us the perfect revelation of Himself that is “clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made” (Rom 1:20). Therefore, we all need to bow before Him in reverence (Ps 89:7), repent of our sins (Joel 2:13), and trust Jesus as our Lord and Saviour by faith (Gal 2:16).

God is holy and righteous. He promised a great day of judgment (Rev 20:10), when He “will come as a thief in the night” (v. 10), “wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat” (v. 12). Those who deny His existence will be judged (Heb 9:27), and “cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death” (Rev 20:14)! The only way to avoid this is to have the second birth – “Ye must be born again” (Jn 3:7), by repenting toward God (Acts 20:21), and trusting Jesus alone (Jn 14:6), as Lord and Saviour by faith (Rom 10:9).

God is “full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth” (Ps 86:15). However, His patience will be exhausted and He will return to this earth. Because “He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness” (Acts 17:31). For the scoffers and Christ-rejecting unbelievers, there will be nothing to look forward to but an eternity in hell (Heb 10:27). But there is still time to repent before He comes again (Rev 22:20). God says it, and we have His word on it! God bless you!
