Jesus Was Made In The Likeness Of Men
Philippians 2:7 says, “But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:”

The Bible does not give any specific date when our Lord Jesus was born. Were the shepherds actually “abiding in the field” (Lk 2:8), during December? Although some may argue that the cold weather may be a reason why they were watching their flocks at night. Regardless, I’m thankful that Christmas is a time when we can celebrate our Lord’s birth and give glory to the One Who “was made in the likeness of men.” There’s nothing wrong with sending Christmas cards, giving gifts, and having a special time with friends and families during this season. As long as we glorify God in everything that we do (1 Cor 10:31).
Paul said, “all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not” (1 Cor 10:23). Because many people are not aware that some feasts and decorations, such as the evergreen trees, yule logs, and mistletoes (Deut 12:30), have connections with pagan festivals (Mt 15:3). They have nothing to do with the virgin birth of our Lord Jesus (Mt 1:23). Sadly, the season is also being commercialized by businesses for monetary profits. Most homes don’t promote Jesus as the True celebrant. But they are elaborately decorated with lights, Santa Claus, reindeers, and Disney characters!
As bible-believing Christians, we should not be easily influenced by our constantly changing culture (Col 2:8). Let’s ask the Lord for wisdom (Jms 1:5), so we can “discern both good and evil” (Heb 5:14). We don’t recognize these pagan traditions or customs (Jer 10:4). Instead, Christmas should be a wonderful time to rejoice in Jesus’ birth (Lk 2:11). Not only do we remember Him coming as the “holy child” (Acts 4:27), but also “the certainty” (Lk 1:4), of His earthly ministry; His death on the cross for the forgiveness of sins (Col 1:20), His burial and resurrection (1 Cor 15:4), His ascension into Heaven (Acts 1:11), and His future second coming (Titus 2:13). “Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift” (2 Cor 9:15)! God bless you!
