The Completion Of Christmas
2 Thessalonians 1:7 says, “And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,”

During Christmas time, we celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ (Mt 1:23), Who “came into the world to save sinners” (1 Tim 1:15). He was “about thirty years of age” (Lk 3:23), when He began His ministry. That was also David’s age “when he began to reign” (2 Sam 5:4). Jesus is “the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ” (Jn 1:41). He suffered and died on the cross (Php 2:8). He was buried, and “He rose again the third day” (1 Cor 15:4). He showed Himself alive for forty days “by many infallible proofs” (Acts1:3). Then “He was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God” (Mk 16:19)!
But the story of Christmas is not complete until Jesus comes again (Jn 14:3). The believers in Thessalonica suffered much affliction and distress for the cause of Christ (Acts 17:1). But they faithfully persevered (1 Thes 3:7). Paul gives them further encouragement by telling those “who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven.” We are living in “perilous times” (2 Tim 3:1); but we are not looking for hope in politics, modern technologies, human philosophies, religion, or tradition (Col 2:8).
We are “looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13). We cannot thank Him enough for His amazing grace (Eph 2:8), His transforming love (Rom 5:8), and His keeping power (1 Pet 1:5)! There’s a great amount of wickedness in the world today. Satan, our enemy will always try to deceive us (2 Thes 2:3). This is all the more reason for bible-believing Christians to take a stand and be “the salt of the earth” (Mt 5:13), and “the light of the world” (Mt 5:14)! Jesus came the first time as a humble “Lamb of God” (Jn 1:36). He is coming again in glory as “the Lion of the tribe of Juda” (Rev 5:5)! God bless you!
