A More Fearful Thing Than Halloween
Hebrews 10:31 says, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

Most people celebrate Halloween by wearing scary costumes, going to terrifying haunted houses and watching the most intense scary movies. We see houses decked with some elaborate and creepy decorations; designed to create an eerie atmosphere to frighten trick-or-treaters and guests! October 31 is actually the eve of a Roman Catholic tradition called All Saints Day, which is celebrated on November 1, and then All Souls Day on November 2; for the purifying of the spirit of the dead by praying for them (Heb 9:27). October 31 became “All Hallows Eve” or a night vigil of Hallowmass.
This seemingly harmless holiday is rooted in pagan superstition and false doctrine. Many today don’t have a clue why they practice it. They don’t care about its evil and Satanic connections (2 Cor 4:4). They just want to have a good time in a celebration that seems fun, with costumes, and candy (Isa 5:20). However, many today don’t realize that there is something more fearful than Halloween; and that is “to fall into the hands of the living God!” If lost sinners die without trusting Jesus alone as their Lord and Saviour by faith (Rom 10:9), then they would end up in a terrible place called Hell (Lk 16:23).
They “shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord” (2 Thes 1:9)! And there will be a final judgment called the “great white throne” (Rev 20:11), wherein all that have done evil shall come forth “unto the resurrection of damnation” (Jn 5:29), and shall be “cast into the lake of fire” (Rev 20:15). Because “the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men” (Rom 1:18). Halloween thrives in the occult, which is “an abomination unto the Lord” (Deut 18:12). God’s children (Eph 5:8), should neither participate (1 Thes 5:22), nor condemn those who practice this celebration due to their ignorance of the truth. But we are to share the gospel (2 Cor 3:2), with grace, love, and compassion (Eph 4:15)! God bless you!
