Giving Unto The Lord In Our Worship
1 Chronicles 16:29 says, “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.”

When we “give unto the Lord,” we are to give Him “the glory due unto His name.” We are to give Him the glory in anything that “we do” (1 Cor 10:31)! We are to bring an “offering, and come before Him” when we worship; by honoring, exalting, and giving Him reverence (Ex 12:27). The expression, you get what you put in, is very true when it comes to worship. Many church-goers often say that they don’t get anything out of the Sunday school class or the preaching services. Mostly likely, they are not putting anything in!
We must understand that true worship requires us to put our hearts and minds into it (Mt 22:37). Because worship is essential to our spiritual growth (2 Pet 3:18), and fellowship with the Lord (1 Jn 1:7). It reminds us of His presence that gives us the “fulness of joy” (Ps 16:11), and His power “that worketh in us” (Eph 3:20). Our worship shows our love and devotion for Him (1 Jn 4:19), which reinforces our commitment to follow Him (Isa 48:17). Every time we go to church, we must remember to pray and ask God to speak to our hearts (Job 33:16), through His word (Heb 4:12).
We cannot expect to receive the blessings of His conviction (2 Cor 7:10), if we are living like the world and don’t care about Him during the week! We must not only give thanks to Him always for what He has done for us (1 Thes 5:18), but we must also praise Him for Who He is “in the beauty of holiness.” That is what it means to “worship Him in spirit and in truth” (Jn 4:24). We must humble ourselves by getting our heart, soul, and mind focused on God (Ps 45:11), instead of our own needs. There would be joy and peace when we genuinely worship the Lord and acknowledging His rightful place in our lives! God bless you!
