Resting At The Feet Of Our Redeemer
Ruth 3:14 says, “And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose up before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came into the floor.”

Ruth finds herself at the feet of Boaz, her “near kinsman” (v. 9). Boaz was willing to redeem “Ruth the Moabitess” (Ruth 1:22), who was a Gentile. He was a picture of Jesus Christ, our great and gracious Redeemer (1 Cor 1:30). Jesus was also willing to redeem and receive the Gentiles if they are willing to trust Him alone as their Lord and Saviour by faith (Acts 20:21); “for there is no respect of persons with God” (Rom 2:11). Boaz instructed Ruth to “tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning” (v. 13). He promised that her redemption would come when morning came! We should also be reminded that we are living in times when “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” (Ps 30:5).
We are to wait patiently for His coming every day (Heb 12:2). This anticipation should fill our hearts with hope that will guide our daily actions (Jude 1:21)! No matter how dark and dreary the path becomes (Ps 23:4), “if we walk in the light, as He is in the light” (1 Jn 1:7), His word (Ps 119:105), shall guide us through every step of the way (Ps 37:23)! Ruth obeyed Boaz by laying down “at his feet until the morning.” She knew that he would do as he promised.
There is nothing that would arise in life to stop God’s plans and promises for us. We can always trust Him to complete “it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Php 1:6). He is both our shelter “and a strong tower from the enemy” (Ps 61:3). There is no better place for the weary and suffering saints than to find rest at the feet of Jesus (Col 3:15). No matter what life throws at us, we can always “come” (Mt 11:28), to a place of safety and comfort in the loving arms of our Saviour! God bless you!
