The Mission Of Jesus
Luke 4:18 says, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,”

Our Lord Jesus came into this world “to seek and to save that which was lost” (Lk 19:10). He is still doing that today through “the Holy Ghost” (Jn 14:26), Who continually reproves “the world of sin” (Jn 16:8)! Jesus was anointed “to preach the gospel to the poor.” He proclaimed the good news to those who are spiritually needy; including the rich, because they are also spiritually depraved (Eph 2:1). He invites everyone to come to Him (Mt 11:28).
If you are not yet saved, then come to Jesus and trust Him alone as your Lord and Saviour by faith (Eph 2:8). He was also sent “to heal the brokenhearted” – those who are suffering (Job 5:7)! Jesus knows all about our sorrows (1 Jn 3:20). He cares for us (1 Pet 5:7); to work all things together for good (Rom 8:28). Don’t give up, we are on the Lord’s side (Rom 8:31)! Jesus also came to “preach deliverance to the captives.” He gives spiritual freedom to those who are living in sin (Eph 5:8), and are in bondage to Satan (Jn 8:44). Because “the truth shall make you free” (Jn 8:32). Jesus “the light of the world” (Jn 9:5), also recovers “sight to the blind.”
Those who “walk in darkness” (Isa 59:9), and are being blinded by Satan (2 Cor 4:4), can now have the “light of life” (Jn 8:12). He sets “at liberty them that are bruised” – Satan has no right to devastate anyone’s life. Those who are “in Christ” (2 Cor 5:17), have the authority over the devil (Eph 4:27). But in order to resist his temptations, we need to humbly submit to God (Jms 4:7), and obey Him (2 Cor 10:5). If your life has been injured by sin, come to Jesus and rest in His unfailing love! God bless you!
