Waiting For His Second Coming
1 Thessalonians 1:10 says, “And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.”

When Jesus came to this world (Lk 1:31), the people witnessed His great power (Jn 14:12), and wonderful miracles (Jn 7:31). His amazing love and grace (1 Tim 1:14), accomplished God’s salvation plan for all who will believe, even today (Rom 1:16). “Forty days” (Acts 1:3), after He was “risen from the dead” (1 Cor 15:20), He ascended to Heaven (Acts 1:9), leaving His church to preach the gospel to this lost and dying world (Mt 28:19). But He left with a promise that He will come again (Acts 1:11). As God’s children, we are all looking for His “glorious appearing” (Titus 2:13).
Because we know for sure that Jesus is coming again (1 Thes 4:15); and we must always be ready for the rapture (1 Thes 4:17), when we shall all be changed (1 Cor 15:52)! In the meantime, we need to get busy telling others about God’s saving grace (Rom 3:24), and rejoicing when they get saved (1 Thes 2:19). Even in the midst of these “perilous times” (2 Tim 3:1), we must continue working for God’s glory ‘till Jesus comes (Lk 19:13). Surely, there will always be “scoffers” (2 Pet 3:3), who would change “the truth of God into a lie” (Rom 1:25); by calling “evil good, and good evil” (Isa 5:20).
They deny the reality of Christ’s coming and the end of the world (2 Pet 3:12)! But they don’t realize that God has already judged and destroyed the entire earth once with the flood (Gen 6:17). In fact, the people during Noah’s time refused to believe him that judgment was coming; the same will be true with Christ’s coming (Mt 24:39). Such pitiful condition still exists today amongst many unbelievers whose minds are blinded by “the god of this world” (2 Cor 4:4). This is all the more reason for Christians to keep on standing for the truth and “blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Cor 1:8)! God bless you!
