For Such A Time As This
Esther 4:14 says, “For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Queen Esther and her people were in the midst of a very dangerous and stressful time, after a decree was made “to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old” (Est 3:13). Great fear came upon them and Esther was “exceedingly grieved” (v. 4). But in spite of her own worries, she demonstrated a clear presence of mind and concern for her fellow Jews by making plans to go before the king (v. 8). She took a personal risk in using her position as the queen to save her people, because she was there “for such a time as this!”
The Lord will always have a person in place to accomplish His plans and purpose (Isa 43:1). God’s children are not exempt from experiencing trials and troubles (Jms 1:2). He uses them to refine our character (Rom 5:3), and to grow us spiritually (Col 1:10)! Just as carbon atoms undergo extreme heat and pressure to crystallize into diamonds, and gold is refined in fire, we are also shaped and molded by our Potter (Isa 64:8), through the hardships we face in life.
But we can always find comfort and assurance that God’s intentions are always for our good (Rom 8:28), and for His glory (1 Pet 5:11); even when we can’t seem to understand it immediately. Every struggle refines our character (1 Pet 1:7), and have the potential to draw us closer to our Lord Jesus (Jms 4:8). Because without Him we “can do nothing” (Jn 15:5)! Throughout the great adversity facing them, Esther showed courage, selflessness, and prayers for her people (v. 16). Even in our most difficult times, we must remember to completely trust in the Lord for the outcome (Ps 18:2). Because He is with us (Heb 13:5), every step of the way! God bless you!
